What does "Be A Red Shield" mean?

Being a Red Shield means you're willing to come along side and partner with The Salvation Army of Sioux Falls in reaching out to those in need in our community.  You see the services and programs at The Salvation Army as being a part of the solution and you want to be a part of it, too.

Every day we see people walk through the doors of The Salvation Army who are in critical need.  They're facing eviction, utility shut off, hunger, lack of money to purchase medication and/or more.  They're turning to and trusting us to help them when they are at their lowest point.  This is something we cannot do alone.  It takes a community to fill the need.  The Salvation Army has been able to provide help and hope for 125 years in Sioux Falls because of our partners.  Partners who care and want to make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling.

How can you become a "Red Shield"?

1.  You can start by adding us to your prayer list.  Prayer truly changes things.

2. Volunteer.  We have several on going programs that help families and seniors where extra   hands are always welcome.

3.  Become a sponsor.
