Salvation Army of Sioux Falls Blog

We hear the word blogging a lot today.  Every workshop to do with marketing and public relations mentions blogging and encourages you to create a blog to help promote your non profit and connect with your supporters, donors and volunteers.

But what is a blog?

Wikipedia describes a blog like this:  "A blog (a truncation of the expression weblog)[1] is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web and consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed in reverse chronological order (the most recent post appears first).  Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog."

Major Tom and I enjoy connecting with others through our work at The Salvation Army.  We so appreciative of the community's support and will use our blog to share about what we've learned through our years of service.  This blog won't be just about the joys and successes, but also about our failures and times of growth.

Every person you meet has a story.  They have ideas, thoughts, and experiences that when shared help others.  That is our intention with our blog.  We want to share (with the hope) that our stories will inspire you to connect with others.  And through that connection you can share your ideas, thoughts and experiences.

We can't doing everything, but we can do something.
